Board of Directors, Board Meetings and Contact Info

If you have questions, comments, or concerns you are welcome to contact our Executive Director, Colt Chase or any of the executive officers listed below. Additionally, we invite you to attend our monthly Board of Directors meeting. Board meetings are open to all members of FYSA, which includes players, parents and volunteers. BOD Meeting agendas shall include a 'member comment period' (3 min. limit for testimony). If any member would like to see something added to the agenda, they should contact the Board President in advance.

Notice of 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) for FYSA Membership

The 2020 Annual General Meeting for FYSA membership will be Thursday January 23rd at 6pm at Randy Smith Middle School. The AGM is an opportunity to hear reports of FYSA programs, financial activity and exercise your right as a member of FYSA to vote on any applicable business at the membership level including elections for Board of Director seats. If you are interested in serving on the FYSA Board of Directors, feel free to let us know in advance so we may provide additional information, answer any questions, etc. Below will be pasted the definition of FYSA membership from the association’s Bylaws, including details regarding one’s status as a Voting Member. We invite all members of our soccer community to attend our AGM and will have the gym reserved for open play from 6pm-7pm with the meeting taking place in the commons area. If you have any questions regarding the AGM or membership details, please don't hesitate to contact us. Hope to see you there!

Definition of Membership From FYSA’s Bylaws

105.1 - FYSA shall be open to membership by any soccer players (including their parents or guardians), coaches, trainers, managers, administrators, and officials not subject to suspension under Federation Bylaws and to any amateur youth soccer organization in the Greater Fairbanks North Star Borough area.
105.2 - Voting Members
a. To be considered a Voting Member, an individual must meet one of the criteria detailed below AND attend in  person at least one membership meeting or meeting of the Board of Directors in the previous 12 months:
i. Be a parent or guardian of a youth player registered with FYSA within the previous 12 months, OR
ii. Be an adult player registered with FYSA within the previous 12 months, OR
iii. Be a volunteer, Associate, Honorary or Sponsor Member, approved for Voting Member status by the Board of Directors.
b. All Voting Members must have reached the age of 18.
i. An 18-year-old player registered for a youth program shall only be eligible for Voting Member status if such is  relinquished by the parent or guardian who registered them.
ii. A player under the age of 18 participating in an adult division is not eligible for Voting Member status, as such  is given to the parent or guardian that registered them (see 105.2.a.i).
c. No member may hold more than one voting membership in FYSA.
d. A Voting Member in good standing, as defined herein, may vote at all annual and/or special general membership  meetings. For the purpose of obtaining Voting Member status, being present at a membership meeting fulfils the  attendance requirement outlined in 105.2.a for any votes held at that same meeting.
105.3 - Associate Members. Any individual who is associated with or who participates in the activities of any affiliated league, association or club shall be an Associate Member of this Association. Associate Members have no voting privileges unless approved by the Board of Directors (see 105.2.a.iii). 
105.4 - Honorary and Sponsor Members. Those individuals who have promoted the goals and objectives of FYSA either through their actions or through significant material and and/or financial contributions to FYSA may be awarded honorary or sponsor membership by majority vote of the Board of Directors. Such members do not have voting privileges unless approved by the Board of Directors (see 105.2.a.iii). 
105.5 - Good Standing. Membership in good standing is maintained by payment of all dues and assessments and completion of all suspension periods levied by FYSA, and its parent organization(s). Reinstatement for membership in good standing may be made by the Board of Directors upon payment of all outstanding obligations and completion of all suspension periods.
